Music of the Night
Tonight I'll be at the Coors Amphitheater watching and listening to the Dave Matthews Band, and I'm pretty hyped about it. Unfortunately, my friend and former personal trainer, who had planned for months to come with me had to cancel out at the last minute. Just my luck, eh? For some strange reason, I had a feeling that something like that was going to happen, too, what with him going out of town often for auditions and stuff in Hollywood. Yep, he got a call to do a screening for a soap opera, and he has to fly out the same day as the concert, which is today. I assume he's already on a flight to New York... and I truly hope he gets it because it would suck if he didn't and he missed out on Dave Matthews. That's the sacrifice you make when you get into that field, and I think that's why I didn't pursue it as hard as I should've when I was in L.A. I wasn't willing to sacrifice my time. Anyway, I was able to get my friend Bobbi to go with me instead. I would hate to be her coming home after the concert because I know she probably won't be home until probably way after midnight. I, myself, will have a hard time getting to work the next morning, I do believe. I'm just not as resilient as I used to be, I guess. Age probably has something to do with it. I saw a bunch of movies this weekend. Seabiscuit was quite good, though it felt like there was something missing to make it great. I saw Chris McCarron in the film. I remember picking him to win when I was a kid everytime my mom or dad or grandmother asked me to pick a horse and jockey. Since I heard my grandmother talk about McCarron a lot, I always picked him when he was listed. It was kinda cool seeing him in there. Gary Stevens was also in the film and he had some lines, too. Although I don't remember him as a jockey like I do Chris McCarron. I liked the authenticity they put in the film. I'm thinking of going to the Del Mar racetrack this Saturday just so I can get the Seabiscuit giveaway mugs. Also saw 28 days later, and unfortunately, I think that I was a little disappointed in it due to all the hype from the commercials. I think if I had seen it without seeing all the commercials about it, it probably would've been more scary for me, but to be honest, I was expecting to be just as scared as when I saw the Blair Witch Project. I thought the lead was quite handsome, though. And finally, I saw Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Let me just say that it did what it was supposed to do. It made Angelina Jolie look sexy and it had cool stunts and effects. Oh, I suppose it made lots of money, too. But if you're looking for a character piece, then go see Seabiscuit. If you're looking for a better action flick, go see Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh, one more thing... my sister is selling stuff on Ebay, so please check it out and see if there's anything of interest to you, click here. Your Thoughts (7)
